Ideally you will arrive at Maison Chouchou between 1pm and 6pm. If you arrive earlier or later, we will try to find a solution that works!

How do we get to La Croix-Valmer from Nice airport?

There is really only one option: take a rental car. When arriving from Germany, you will land at Terminal 1. You can get a rental car from SIXT directly at terminal 1 if you have at least Gold status (in 2018, SIXT gold status was included in a XING premium account). Otherwise you have to take a shuttle bus to car rental terminal close to terminal 2. There are plenty of rental companies at Nice airport and prices are quite low. It takes around 1:30h from Nice airport to La Croix-Valmer. Check traffic and avoid rush hours along the coast between Sainte-Maxime and Saint-Tropez!

Is it true that there are many mosquitoes in the Var region?

Yes, there are biting insects in the Var region. Depending on the weather there can be quite some mosquitoes that bite especially in the morning and after and around sunset. You should bring mosquito repellent. We use AUTAN and mosquito spirals.

Everything sounds perfect. But what is not so great?

We instantly fell in love with Maison Chouchou. The house is cozy and neat, but not huge. So don't expect a spacious villa. If you are very sensitive to noise, you may want to know that our home is not located in the wilderness, but close by La Croix-Valmer inside a lively neigborhood. Hence, there may be neigbors that celebrate life with loud music. And there is a road passing by the property behind the garden. You will hear cars and motorbikes from time to time.
